What to Do with Leftover Candle Wax

In many cultures across our society, using the full extent of a product is ideal. That is because there is probably more than one way to use an item instead of just one primary usage. Animals could be used for more than just food, with many parts used for other products. The same sentiment can be applied to candles, believe it or not.

Candles are primarily made out of wax, which can be burnt for long periods. There are different types of wax, each with distinctive features. Some, like coconut candles wax, are organic and aesthetically pleasing. After candles have stayed their welcome, you may come to find that there is some leftover wax in its place. This wax should not be discarded just yet, however. It can be repurposed for several other purposes too.

Here is what to do with leftover candle wax:

1. Create a Candle

Unless your candle was structured for just a single usage, you could use the leftover wax to rebuild it! Instead of having to throw away perfectly good wax, you can rebuild it for future use. All you need to do in this regard is find a candle mould. These moulds can come in the form of an unused glass or mug.

Once you have acquired the mould, melt the leftover wax and put it into the mould. Do not forget to add your wick, a necessary aspect of any candle. Not only will this help the candle burn brighter, but it will allow it to maintain its longevity. As long as the quality remains, your candle wax can always be reused to your liking!

2. Drawer Movement

Old furniture, over time, will become a nuisance for most of us. That is mainly because many furniture pieces will break down in quality over time. For example, you may find that the drawers are not moving seamlessly and fluidly. Case in point now would be a good time to grab some leftover candle wax.

Insert the leftover wax onto the drawer’s slides. Then, place the drawer back on, and test out its movement. It will show you that the wax is working if all goes well. You no longer have to worry about those drawers sticking or lodging again. If an issue persists, all you need to do is adjust the placement of the wax.

3. Extended Aroma

A candle’s usage does not have to end once it has been fully exhausted. Rather, you can use what is left to create an extended scent in the respective room. As you did in the previous point, grab the leftover wax and put it inside a jar. The jar itself should be of a good, durable structure.

Once the product has been put inside, you can then place the item on top of your radiator. The leftover wax will eventually melt away because of the radiator below it. Once this occurs, you will notice a pleasant aroma circulating throughout the room. Instead of having to remake an entire candle, this will be your next best bet!

4. Wax Ornaments

Parents of young kids will always look for ways to entertain their children. One of the best ways to do this is using your leftover candle wax. This product can be moulded and retrofitted into creative ornaments, which produces a fun bonding activity for all. Try to do this in or around special events or occasions.

Christmas is one of the best times to engage in this activity. Or you may also want to use this Halloween activity to make eccentric items for the home. Whatever the case, you have a lot of potentials to work with. Plus, your kids will take advantage of this exciting activity!

5. Sealing Letters

While emailing clients or loved ones has become the norm, traditional mailing forms remain. Grab some leftover candle wax if you want to add a sentimental touch to your conventional letters. The wax you have can be used for sealing your mail in a personalized manner.

Some may see it as an archaic method, but it certainly adds a touch of creativity nonetheless. For example, you can use the leftover wax to seal wedding invitations to be sent out before your special day.

6. Fixing Your Shoelaces

Shoelaces and candles may not be relevant together if you think about it initially. However, leftover wax can be useful if your shoelaces become challenging to handle down the line. Drip the hot leftover candle wax onto the shoelace’s ends, and roll them between your fingers. Then, it will fix the issue outright!
