How to Get Vape Juice Out of Clothes
Are you an avid vaper and love to try different flavours? Whether you stick with the same juice or change it daily, filling up your tank is part of the process. As long as you are careful and take your time, it is a clean and quick process, but we aren’t always at home over the sink refilling our device. Sometimes we are out and about with friends and sharing juices on the fly. This is where it can get a little messy.
Have you accidentally spilled your vape juice on yourself? It happens a lot, and while it may seem like you are going to have permanent stains, that isn’t necessarily the case.
So how do you get vape juice out of clothes? Here’s how to do it like a boss.
1. Get vape juice out of clothes right away.
Like any spill, you should clean spilled vape juice up as soon as it happens. If your tank leaks in your pocket, you may not notice immediately, but as soon as you do, clean it up. You will notice a discolouring and, of course, the smell. If you are at home, it is easier to clean it but when you are out, make your way to a washroom to work on it.
Vape juice Canada usually doesn’t leave a permanent stain, but some ingredients like propylene glycol and certain resins are a little tougher to deal with.
2. Blot the spot
When e-liquid is spilled, you can’t just rub it in and hope for the best. You need to start by soaking up as much as possible before working on the stain. A Paper towel is great for absorbing spills, but you can also use a wet washcloth to soak them up.
Gently press the cloth into the spill but make sure not to rub it around. You want to absorb it, not press it in further. Rinse the cloth with water, ring it out and blot it again until you get as much out as possible.
3. Clean with soap and water
Soap is the perfect cleaner for getting stains out of your clothes. Lather up some soap and massage it into the stain. Then leave it there so it can soak in for 5-10 minutes.
Now, you can rinse it out with warm water and let it dry. Most of the stain should be lifted but throw your clothes in the wash to finish the job.
4. Vinegar & baking soda
Vinegar is a great cleaner that not only will treat the stain but also mask the smell of spilled vape juice. Baking soda is also an incredible cleaner and deodorizer. Combined, these common household ingredients create a chemical reaction to get rid of stains.
Make a paste and rub it onto the stain, so it soaks in and watches it bubble and foam. After 10 minutes, you can wash it off with a wet rag or brush it off with an old toothbrush.
5. Commercial stain remover
For tough stains or if you have any product on hand, a store-bought stain remover is very effective. You can get a spray, liquid or powder, but all are applied directly to the soiled spot.
Let it soak in for 10 minutes, and then throw your pants or shirt into the washing machine. If the juice has been on your clothes for a while, it may need a few washes to do the trick.
6. Vaping residue
Third-hand residue can also collect on surfaces where you are vaping, including your clothes. Even if you don’t see a stain, the odours can become stale and smell like ash after the flavouring evaporates. Regular washing of your clothes will take care of this.
Don’t forget to wash your jackets too. We don’t usually wash our jackets too often, but if you are someone who vapes, it is best to throw them in the wash every few weeks.
7. Soaking for larger spills
If you have larger spills on your clothes or bed sheets when filling your tank, don’t leave it to dry and stain. Take off the spilled garment or sheets right away before they soak through to the mattress and get them soaking in a mixture of vinegar and soap. Lemon juice is also effective for bringing out big stains. You can wet the area with lemon juice and let it dry in the sun before washing.
No matter how careful you are, you will have an accidental spill. It happens, but it doesn’t need to be a big deal as long as you get to it right away. Use these techniques to get vape juice out of your clothes, and then you can take care of your best outfits no matter what happens.
